yad2 for iPhone

yad2 is Israel’s third largest internet business. It serves close to half a million classified ads and has millions of visitors a month. Finding stuff on yad2 involves entering quite a bit of information, which is usually awful on mobile phones. Our challenge then was to implement a comfortable, intuitive search interface which gets result fast.

Here’s a concept sketch of the search screen we eventually came up with. Tap the parameter name you want to edit (like ‘Area’), and flick the scrollwheel to the desired value. The parameter cell visually reinforces the selected value (‘Tel Aviv’ in this case). Simple!
